The situation for Ukraine in terms of Minsk process changed for the better, but for all the key actors of the process it is already clear that the process itself has reached a dead end. This was spoken by Yuriy Romanenko, Head of Programs for International and Domestic Policy of the Ukrainian Institute for the Future, during a press conference “Minsk dead-end: what’s next?”. According to the expert, Putin’s reckless actions have played into the hands of Ukraine – the Kremlin games in Syria forced the West to show their teeth and take the side of Ukraine. “The position of the West began to change in our favor, mainly because of the behavior of the Russian President in Syria, – says Yuriy Romanenko. – It is enough to touch the core interests of Europe, and it quickly finds solutions like for example this PACE resolution. The Syrian issue is very acute in the agenda of the Western countries, because it means the waves of refugees who gradually become a serious internal factor of destabilizing the EU”.
