The first tour of the primaries of the French Left has proven that the survival and the future course of the party is at stake rather than real fight in the forthcoming presidential elections.

The victory of the ideological and purist formet education minister Benoit Hamon not only confirms the low popularity of the government, but also increases electoral chances of left-liberal candidate, Emmanuel Macron.
