“We need very sincere questions and equally sincere answers” – these words opened the speech of the political scientist Michael Basarab at a press conference of the Ukrainian Institute for the Future “Minsk stalemate: What is next?” And he explained: “For example, we need to understand that we can exit the conflict with Russia either as winners or losers. There is no midway there. Minsk agreement, no matter that it is positioned as a peace plan with minimal negative consequences for Ukraine, but it is a plan of gradual surrender of Ukraine. In fact, this is a plan of reintegration of Donbas into Ukraine because of concessions of Kyiv”.
