On May 7 the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, the self-proclaimed President of the country Juan Guaidó for the first time hinted that he may turn to the US with a request to send troops to the country to bring down the regime of President Nicolas Maduro. The statement of the main opposition leader of Venezuela, which was recognized by the US and the allies as legitimate President instead of Maduro in January 2019, finally demonstrated the failure of the opposition’s attempts to change the situation from the inside.
