On September 21, the Ukrainian Institute for the Future (UIF) hosted the presentation of the report “25 Years of Independence: economic results”, prepared and presented by Anatoliy Amelin, director of economic programs at UIF, a former member of the National Commission on Securities and Stock Market of Ukraine. The report presented an analysis of the path which Ukraine passed for a quarter of a century and its evaluation in comparison with the other countries of the former USSR. As it was noted by Anatoliy Amelin, this analysis was conducted not to show how bad everything is in our country (as the results still look disappointing), but in order to define a starting point for setting goals for the future and for considering the past mistakes in developing a future strategy . “25 years of Ukraine’s independence – is a continuous running on a rake. We made a lot of mistakes choosing the wrong people, or taking the wrong decisions “, – says Anatoliy Amelin. In fact, the report is the work on mistakes, where with the use of available language of the numbers, facts and examples of neighboring countries the deficiencies of the Ukrainian economy are formulated.
