A significant part of the inhabitants of the occupied territories is not against returning to Ukraine on the terms of the Minsk agreements.
This is evidenced by the sociological study of the Ukrainian Institute for the Future that was held in September 2018 on the occupied territories.
In addition, the participants of the discussion often mentioned that an important factor in the settlement of the conflict could be the granting official status of the second language to Russian language, the termination of the rhetoric “Russia is the enemy” that is continued by Ukrainian politicians and the media, and the “cancellation of nationalistic Banderite ideology”.
