The negative attitude of Ukrainians towards the lifting of the moratorium on the sale of the agricultural land is caused by the informational influence of media and politicians – the director of economic projects Anatoly Amelin explains the results of polls, according to which 2/3 of Ukrainians are against selling agricultural land.

“Almost everyone who opposes the lifting of the moratorium does not own land. This is more a psychological factor caused by informational influence. All sorts of scary stories are told to people. For example, that the Chinese will buy all lands, only Asians will live here, foreigners will spoil the soil,” – the economist explains.

In fact, the moratorium deters massive investments in Ukraine.

“The cost of Ukrainian land, according to market prices, exceeds $ 150,000,000,000 USD – no one will want to invest such money in a market that is becoming less interesting. The chernozem (black-earth) is no longer an advantage. Landowners will be able to take a loan, buy equipment, put greenhouses and grow agricultural products. These are investments in the sector, job creation, production of equipment, most of which will be Ukrainian,” – the expert explains.
