Two weeks remain till the end of the year, and the budget is not adopted yet, although the last deadline in terms of the budget process is December 1. It is expected that the next plenary week will be devoted to the work on the adoption of the budget. In the last session of Verkhovna Rada, a number of budget laws was adopted, which should be reflected in the text of the budget and are related to:
– increasing social standards (minimum salary increase), while setting limits on the maximum pension (UAH 10740), and reducing the motivational component for students (awarding academic and social scholarships to only 66% of students);
– strengthening of the system of penalties for employers who evade inspections and don’t obey the Labor Code and do not register workers officially or transfer them on part time employment. According to the survey conducted by the Ukrainian Institute for the Future, 34.1% receive envelope salary, and out of those who are employed informally – 15.6%.
