Yesterday there was a meeting of presidents of France and Russia in the French Brégançon. The main topic was the security situation in Europe. This meeting was reviewed by the UIF expert Iliya Kusa.

The fact that the French consider Russia as a partner in the process of creation of the security architecture in Europe was obvious long ago.

As Europeans and Russians will be getting closer, the Ukrainian issue will be becoming more sensitive. Since there are no proposals from our side – Russia or France can start dealing with the issue of Ukraine, Iliya Kusa believes.

The problem with the Normandy format is that there is no subject of conversation.

“Ukraine should come forward with a strategic vision for security: what do we want and what it is. Ukraine should dictate terms. We should be the first in making a proposal to solve problems and always seize the initiative,” the expert said.
