Romania started its presidency of the EU Council. At the same time, demographic processes in the country remain negative: the high rate of infant mortality, emigration of high schoolers and students. Against this background, the confidence of citizens in the democratic system in Romania continues to decline: 64% of the population does not trust their own democracy. Despite this, the ruling party has the opportunity to put at least 11 of its deputies in the EU parliament during the next elections to the European Parliament in May.
