With this text, the Ukrainian Institute for the Future begins a series of essays on the most important events of the past month that happened in Russia, or directly related to it. Usually, January is considered to be a period of calm, this year, however, it turned out to be extremely rich in information occasions, some of which are important for an outside observer. They monitor the markers, allowing to track the trajectory of the future development of the Russian authoritarian equilibrium.
