SMUGGLER COUNTRY: BELARUS SELLS ARMS THROUGH THE UAE?

An exhibition of arms IDEX was opened in Abu Dhabi. Belarus is represented there. The UAE has the status of one of the largest sites of arms trade and sales of it bypassing restrictions.

There is a Belarusian pavilion at IDEX 2019, but some of the major Belarusian sellers, such as BelTech Export, are exhibited in the pavilion of the United Arab Emirates as local companies. There are at least three reasons for it:

1. Russia is not able to interfere in such agreements.
2. The USA is not able to interfere in such agreements.
3. Such agreements can be made bypassing many of the sanction restrictions.
