Suggestions of the Ukrainian Institute for the Future on the strategy of innovative development

First of all, it is worth noting that the Ukrainian Institute for the Future welcomes the initiative of the Government and the MES on the development of the Strategy of innovative development of Ukraine. This step is prompt and essential. At the same time, it should be noted that the draft strategy submitted for public discussion, unfortunately, does not correspond to the level of challenges Ukrainian economy and society are facing and does not meet the level of expectations of parties concerned. Moreover- it can hardly be considered a strategy due to the fact that the document does not contain the wording of the vision of how the Ukrainian economy would look like in 5 – 7 – 10 years in case of successful implementation of the strategy.

This is an important component of the strategic documents, as it is a story about the future, which creates a relevant horizon of expectations for the current participants of the process.
